Some thoughts about breaking up with your ideal body type

Your body may not look the way you want it to, and that can definitely be frustrating. We can so desperately want to change our bodies when all they want us to do is take care of them.

Do you know what is worse than not having a flat stomach?

  • Worrying about what you're going to eat all the time

  • Having increased cortisol levels from anxiety around food

  • Not enjoying your one precious life in the name of hating your body

It can be really hard to shift away from the pursuit of thinness, to mourn your ideal body, to choose feeding yourself over attaining a certain body image. AND it is possible.

You have to choose yourself. You have to value your own self above your desired body type. Only then can you begin to make conscious decisions to eat that are in line with that.
